Stay in touch with your parents so they know what’s going on

Never give out any personal information (ex. last name, your address, telephone number, parents' place of work or their phone number, or location of your school)

Never send anyone your picture - don't accept any pictures either.

Report any harassment or inappropriate messages to parents, teachers, the online service or to the police

Don’t say anything embarrassing to strangers

Ask your parents before you sign up for any networks or chat room on the internet (facebook, myspace etc.)

Be nice to the people you meet on the internet and other websites, always remember thegolden rule. Never say anything that you might regret later or is inappropriate. 

Treat your online footprint (blog, facebook, etc) like a resume.
